We Heart It 2014 Recap

Remember those two warm days we had this cold winter?  Luckily one of those days was during our “We Heart It” open house! It was an evening full of inspiration!  Our vision was to create a fun night for vendors, brides-to-be, and anyone who enjoys parties to have delicious food, drinks and experience something new to get a fresh idea for their own event.

We partnered with Diane, of The Vintage Type rentals, and were lucky enough to use her lovely rentals throughout the entire showroom.  Located in downtown St. Paul, it was the perfect place to provide inspiration. Thank you Diane!

Chowgirls provided the delicious food that people couldn’t get enough of, especially the Arugula wrapped in Prosciutto and savory coconut curry macadamia nuts!

Kelly’s husband Matt was able to create the stunning pallet wall backdrop for the bar where our friend Marco of Bittercube poured amazing custom cocktails specially created for the evening. The floral garland was made by Jen and added the pop our bar needed!

Heidi from HLP photography spent the evening capturing all of the little details in her talented way.

Menus and place cards on our harvest and sweetheart tables were created by Rock Paper Scissor and they completed our tablescape perfectly, thanks Kate!

Oh Dier’s handcrafted wooden signs & cake toppers could be seen throughout the space, and we were only able to showcase a handful of what they do!

The true showstopper was Acowsay Designs’ Slow Motion Video booth!  Something different than your traditional photo booth…this is a little more involved for the guests…and a lot of fun to be a part of.  Check out the finished product!

Thank You to all of the vendors who participated and made our evening shine and to all who came out experience it. We truly appreciate you coming!  We hope to do it again soon!

on newsstands now

Guess what, my friends.  The fall/winter issue of MN Bride is out!!  I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for this one!  My friend and fave photographer Heidi found out quite awhile ago...probably April??... that our engagement shoot we worked on together was going to be published in the next issue of MN Bride.  It was so exciting to hear that they wanted to use these pictures for a special story they were doing!  All last week I was stalking any barnes & noble I drove within 5 miles of, checking to see if it was out on the shelves yet.  I finally found it at Lunds in Uptown.  (By the time I have gotten a chance to write this it should be out just about everywhere.)
Here's what it looks like:

I'm so happy for Heidi to have her work published!! This was such a fun shoot to work on! Maureen did hair and make-up for us; Oh Dier sent us some signs over to use; and in a crazy MN winter where there was hardly any snow...we found some snow! I must admit, I'm quite disappointed that I did not get any credit in the magazine for my contributioon to this shoot, but next time right! There was another bonus from the shoot and that was getting to meet Matt & Kelly, our gorgeous engaged couple! and now I get to work on their wedding that is coming up in a couple weeks!  It has been so fun getting to know them and trade thrift store stories! They are the cutest! Here's some of the shots that Heidi took and if you want to check out even more you can go to Heidi's blog post.

new sign

I wanted to share with you my latest and greatest little acrylic sign I got the other week from Oh Dier.  This is the first one that I have custom ordered from them and I love it!  My hello sign is also still enjoying hanging out with the air plants.

These pics of my new sign I took myself outside on the picnic table.  Can't wait until I get my office set up so I can set this baby on my desk or bookshelf. :)
